Project Scope
I worked as a UX/UI designer and developer on this project – it is still awaiting a released version.
I used UX practices to gather information on the potential users and how to present an interactive and easy to use experience.
This prototype application has been an idea of mine for some time and I took the opportunity to present my ideas to the marketing group.

Design Challenges
Problem
Make a user-friendly application that can immerse tourists in all that’s available to them when visiting the West highlands. Present the application in a readable and fun style showing relevant items in real-time to engage the users.
Solution
A bright and accessible UI that takes advantage of the many small businesses and events that are willing to work with the client. Using public data as a means to present real-time news and activities from across the specified locations.

Front-end Development challenges
The application is being developed using ReactJS. It’s a framework I’m familiar with from past development projects and I am building a stronger understanding of it’s functionality.
Due to the nature of the application using publicly available information from other businesses a sleek API integration was essential in creating an optimised user experience.

Design Rationale
I wanted a clear and clean application design that would convey the image of outdoors and travelling. I used a blue and some gradients of green as my primary colours and tried to keep the use of white space prominent in the design.
The user feedback was generally positive and different age groups were able to navigate and understand the screens.
Results
Mobile friendly application that utilises API data to present real-time information.
Reflections
Adding a payment functionality so users can make purchases and bookings via the app would be a key component in adding profitability.

I worked as a Shopify designer and developer on this project for a large mechanical & electrical supplier.
I produced design content that would convert high end clients through a website brochure and welcome pack.
I was given the role of project managing as well as branding and content creation for social media.
